Disney Parks around the world will celebrate International Day of the Girl on October 11. Guests are invited to Disney Bound as their favorite female Disney characters to celebrate the movement.

Disney Bounding is a trend where Park-goers dress with “color schemes, patterns, accessories and more that speak to your favorite character” according to the Disney Parks Blog. Disney advises that all outfits must fall within the costume guidelines for each individual Park (you can find those guidelines here for Walt Disney World and here for Disneyland).
Disney said that the #DreamBigPrincess campaign was created to use the stories of Disney’s beloved heroines as well as real-life role models to “encourage kids around the globe to follow their dreams”. As part of the campaign, the Disney Bounding event will be held on International Day of the Girl, a day declared by the United Nations. From October 10-November 20, 2018, each like or share of a public photo or video tagged with #DreamBigPrincess on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, will be matched with a $1 donation to Girl Up by Disney Worldwide Services (with a minimum of $500,000.00 and a max of $1,000,000.00).
According to www.dayofthegirl.org, the day was created “to help galvanize worldwide enthusiasm for goals to better girls’ lives, providing an opportunity for them to show leadership and reach their full potential”.
